NATIONAL HOLIDAY CHALLENGE
For my final project, our teacher allowed us to make up our own. Below is a description of the National Holiday Challenge I submitted.
__________________________________
For my project I want to challenge myself and create a design everyday up till the final critique. I got this idea from seeing friends on Instagram or people on the web participating in creative challenges. I will create designs based on national holidays correlating to the day. If it’s national cat day I’ll design something for that. I’ll set certain restrictions for myself during this challenge.
1) Canvas size 5x5 inches
2) Use only compound colors
3) Black and White color are exceptions to the color palette
4) Use a new font each day, NO REPEATS
5) Needs to be related to the holiday
The point of this project is to get my creative juices flowing while also seeing if my designs progressively get better the more I practice within these few weeks. I want to create a website where I will post my designs so that way there’s proof that the design has been done and even have a time stamp of when it was submitted. I’ll give myself until 11:59pm each day to submit a design. This project goes along with my previous text project, “It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions.” The more practice I can get, the closer I am to closing that gap.
